History
1978: On July 15th, the first meeting of the Board of Trustees of Fu Jen Catholic University approved the resolution of His Eminence Paul Cardinal Yu Pin, President of the Board of Trustees, that “Fu Jen Catholic University should establish a University History Office and request that the secretary, Rev. Joseph Kung, be its director.”.
1979: His Excellency Archbishop Stanislaus Lokuang established the University History Office, headed by Rev. Joseph Kung, the first secretary of the University after it had been re-established in Taiwan.
1988: The Exhibition Hall of University History was established.
1991: In August, the Chinese Catholic Museum was incorporated into the University History Office.
The University History Office is responsible for collecting, compiling, preserving, researching, and presenting the history of Fu Jen Catholic University, and the integration of historical Catholic artifacts. In addition to publishing historical materials and research findings, the Office also assists in teaching units and student organizations in designing curricula and editing teaching materials to fulfill the mission of a Catholic university and to highlight the characteristics of Fu Jen Catholic University.
